Snowmobile drag racing had been taking place in Montana since the mid-1980's but it wasn't until the summer of 1990 that "established, professional, and organized," racing took place and the founding of the Montana Snowmobile Racing Association was born.

Before long, the MSRA had one of the largest winter racing circuits in the western United states. Racers, sponsors, and event sites grew with leaps and bounds, and Montana was notorious for having some of the best racing that the west could offer.

In two short years the MSRA brought the official race paper for Montana to light with the establishment of the "Finish Line" News. Our hard work created a form of communication that ended up winning several "Communication" awards as well as, voted as one of the "Best" racing newspapers by an association. This was quite and honor considering our short history to date.

Our circuits grew throughout the State of Montana with an ice, grass, and snow drag racing schedule and each season brought a new challenge to our racers for the status of becoming State Champions. Only the best locations were chosen to run our circuits not only the beautiful scenery of our great state but to allow for racers and spectators alike to have the ability to be closer to hotels and fantastic restaurants. This also allowed for great media coverage for us and brought much needed national attention for the MSRA.

When the MSRA was founded, it was done by just a small handful of dedicated racers and started with just 35 members. Bhy the third and fourth year of this organization there were well over 300racers coming to races in Montana from all over the western United States and Canada. The MSRA was deemed, "The Best of the West," and "The Larges Snowmobile Racing Association in the West," by national snowmobile magazines.

The MSRA was recognized all over the United States and Canada as having some of the best racing of course but it was better recognized for its "premium" racers! Many of our past racers were awarded state, national and world titles. Our racers were "fierce" warriors to reckon with on the East Coast amongst some of the world's best racers. Many succeeded with titles that are now in the annals of snowmobile racing history.

When the MSRA disbanded in 2010 for the last time there had been over 500 racers that had graced the drag tracks in Montana and left an impression on those who said a final good-bye to snowmobile drag racing.

Fast forward to 2024-2025 and the MSRA is back in action creating a new drag racing season and putting things back together for nostalgia and for the fun and exciting times that had been missed by all.

We are happy to announce that the Montana Snowmobile Racing Association will be back in action. Again, with a small handful of people resurrecting the circuit and a dedication to bring back not only the friendships that were missed but to bring back the competition of experienced racers and new racers alike.

We Missed You All! We are so happy to be back catering to this great organization and hope you will come out and support an organization that truly is, "The Best That the West Has to Offer." You can expect the same fierce competition that we once had and you will get to meet some of the greatest people in the State of Montana and surrounding states.

We hope you will come out and support this organization that truly gives its spectators a chance to see some of the "Best" racers that Montana has produced in a 20 year plus history of racing.
